The Original Kids Alumni Project

Since its inception in 2010, the Original Kids Alumni project utilizes an intensive rehearsal process and offers a rare opportunity for former members of the Original Kids Main Cast Company to reunite on a mature production which features content that would not be presented with the youth in the Main Cast. Regardless of the route our Original Kids alumni have taken, they carry the memories and influence of OKTC wherever their life path takes them. Their return to the OK community signifies a reconnection with the place their passion for the arts was ignited, and gives inspiration to the current Main Cast members of the productions they may have the opportunity to participate in the future. The courage, emotional commitment and professionalism of the alumni ensemble truly exemplifies the company’s motto “Once an Original Kid, always an Original Kid.”

Original Kids Alumni's The Rocky Horror Show
Book, Music & Lyrics by Richard O’Brien

Original Kids Presents The Rocky Horror Show
We couldn’t be more excited about our 2025 Alumni Show!
It's time to get weird, wild, and wonderful! Celebrating 50 years, it's THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW!

ABOUT THE SHOW:
In this cult classic, sweethearts Brad and Janet, stuck with a flat tire during a storm, discover the eerie mansion of Dr. Frank-N-Furter. As their innocence is lost, Brad and Janet meet a houseful of wild characters, including a rocking biker and a creepy butler. Through elaborate dances and rock songs, Frank-N-Furter unveils his latest creation: a muscular man named “Rocky.” Complete with sass from the audience and an array of other audience participation props, this deliberately kitschy rock ’n’ roll sci-fi gothic musical is more fun than ever!

The Rocky Horror Show is the ultimate in audience-participation shows. Dress up as your favourite character, talk back to the actors, dance, and use approved props. Here are some tips for virgins who have never seen the show ...

SHOUT-OUTS are encouraged. And don’t shush the people around you if they’re talking back to the performers. Join in! Feel free to join in at your own pace, just make sure you’re following the script (no one wants angry notes from the Stage Manager!)

DRESS TO IMPRESS. Don’t get strung out by the way some of your fellow audience members might look. Shed your inhibitions and let loose, much like the characters on stage. Gowns, corsets, wigs, garters, leather and lace, just because you’re not on stage doesn’t mean you shouldn’t feel the fantasy!

DO THE TIME WARP. You can dance if you want to, but don’t go on stage, stand on your seat or obstruct the view of others. If you have an aisle seat, you’re really in luck.

NO FOOD, including toast or rice can be brought into the theatre.

APPROVED PROPS: Newspapers, rubber gloves, noise makers, bells, costumes including fishnet stockings, corsets, and more … Be sure to purchase your Participation Bag in advance so we've got it ready for you on your big night at the show!

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BRING: Confetti, water guns, toilet paper rolls, hot dogs, candles, lighters, or bread/toast. The show will be stopped and the perpetrators will be seized by ushers, summarily dismembered and stored in the freezer with the remains of Eddie.

DON’T DREAM IT, BE IT. Bring your friends, dress up, have a heck of a time at The Rocky Horror Show!

CONTENT WARNING:
This production contains mature content unsuitable for young children, including sexual content, themes, and offensive language. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
The Rocky Horror Show is a product of its time — loud, campy, rebellious, and yes, sometimes problematic. Some language and themes in the original script no longer reflect today’s values around gender, identity, and inclusion. We haven’t changed the text, not to endorse everything it says, but to present it in the full context of its cultural legacy — as a work that helped push boundaries and celebrate self-expression in its own wild way. We trust our audiences to engage with it critically, joyfully, and with an open mind (and maybe some fishnets).
