How does my child get involved with Original Kids Theatre (OKTC)?
There are three sections for involvement in Original Kids Theatre Company: the Main Cast Company, Camp OK!, and Kidlets.
OKTC’s Main Cast Company is for youth aged 8 to 18. Kids are involved in two projects each year with Original Kids between September and August. Acceptance to the company occurs in three ways: first, Original Kids can be re-invited from the previous year; second, those deemed ready for the Main Cast from Camp OK can be invited; and third, those who successfully audition for the Main Cast as the need arises. Camp OK! is OKTC’s summer camp program for youth aged 8 to 16, located on the grounds of Huron College at UWO. We offer four two-week sessions. Youth aged 5 to 9 can participate in Original Kidlets. There are four programs for Original Kidlets: an eight-week Fall Program, an eight-week Winter Program, a full-day March Break Kidlets Camp, and a half- or full-day Kamp Kidlets in July and August. All Kidlets programs are sign-up programs available on a first-come, first-served basis. What is the Main Cast Company?
The Main Cast Company consists of youth aged 9 to 18. Each member of the Main Cast Company participates in two projects per year where they can explore, take risks, and flourish as young performers! Original Kids Theatre Company puts on over twenty shows each year, including both plays and musicals. Main Cast Company members rehearse two to three times per week, including at least one weekend rehearsal. Each production also consists of at least 5 performances for the public.
New Original Kids entering the company in from grade 4 to grade 8 participate in our T.A.G. (The Actor Grows) workshop, which teaches them the basics of acting, singing, and dancing to help them once they begin performing in shows. The T.A.G. program occurs in the Fall Season and then successful graduates continue on to a main production in the Spring Season!
Membership in the Main Cast Company includes season shirts, cast photos and access to an online collection of show photos, as well as valuable information about the arts through participation in the shows each season. Actors are able to grow, make friends, as well as volunteer in other areas of the company.

Camp OK! is our fun-filled summer camp program for youth aged 8 to 16, located on the grounds of Huron College at UWO. Camp OK! is a safe and nurturing environment where young people can grow and flourish. It is a total theatre experience where youth can blossom as performers and make friends and memories that last a lifetime! Camp OK! also offers a variety of fun activities, including water events and games, as well as performance sessions each day, which culminates with Performance Day for family and friends.
For youth aged 13 to 16, we offer two programs at camp: Leaders In Training (LIT) and the LEAD Program.
