Magic beyond imagination takes centre stage this season at Original Kids Theatre — making the impossible possible and finding the magic in everyday moments.  The magical ingredient is you, our young actors that bring imagination to life and bring our stories come to life on stage.

Charles Schwartz’s timeless Peanuts characters create magic and possibilities with Snoopy! Magical realism weaves its way on stage in an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. Magic and mayhem come alive at an all-too-familiar school of witchcraft and wizardry in the Off-Broadway hit, Puffs, Or: Seven Increasingly Eventful Years At A Certain School Of Magic And Magic. You never know what is lurking in the grass, the delightful Fab Four-inspired, Beat Bugs JV. The music of the 1970s serve as the backdrop for the epic Disaster!

December pays tribute to the fairy tale Cinderella. To begin, a loving parody of fairy tale mythology (and a popular television show) in Orange is the New Glass. Next, two tales, one familiar, the other unfamiliar! Enjoy the classic Disney adaptation on stage in Disney’s Cinderella KIDS with the lesser-known story of Cinderella’s long lost brother, Bob, in Twinderella.  A plain yellow pumpkin will become a golden carriage in the new Broadway adaptation of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, adding a sparkle of magic to your holiday season. And finally, to cure the cold January blues, enjoy a Mediterranean getaway to a magical Greek island in the worldwide phenomenon, Mamma Mia!

Wrapped with mystery, music, and imagination, this season at Original Kids Theatre you and your family will believe in the magic.

Alongside them are the Puffs, a group of wellmeaning, loyal outsiders with a thing for badgers “who are so lovable and relatable, you’ll leave the theater wishing they were in the stories all along” (Hollywood Life). Currently playing Off-Broadway at New World Stages, this comedic hit play is sure to take a classic story to new heights and reimagines what a boy wizard hero can be.
