LEAD is a four week intensive leadership development program that takes you through modules to fully explore the role of being a leader and what it entails. The participants within this program will partake in four modules, a new one starting at the beginning of each week. During the first module, titled “Original”, there is focus on leadership skills and styles to form the strong foundation for the following weeks. “Kids”, the second module in the program emphasizes behavior management while implementing camp tasks. Campers will learn various strategies to keep the focus of their teams. The third module, entitled “Camp”, will integrate the leaders into camp facilitating and additional responsibilities. During this session, leaders will learn the various elements of teamwork. In the final session, “Leaders” participants will put all prior knowledge to use to demonstrate their growth throughout the program.
LEAD will allow each participant to take away effective leadership skills, confidence and experience that they will be able to use in future years at Original Kids Camp, as well as other jobs and careers in their future! Sign up, we can’t wait to see you there! |
LEAD APPLICATION
Purpose: To ensure that LEAD participants are interested in leadership development, and are not just signing up for the program as senior-most campers. To hear from the campers, rather than their parents, about their leadership goals.
Instructions: All prospective LEAD participants must answer the three application questions prior to acceptance in the program. No reasonable candidate will be refused, but it is important that they put some thought into their answers to show dedication to the highly competitive program. Answers should be no longer than 150 words per question, and questions should be answered in complete sentences. Responses are to be reviewed by the Camp Director and Leadership Coordinator/LEAD Coordinator. The Camp Director will email successful candidates as soon as the review is finalized, and parents will be able to complete Camp Brain registration.
QUESTIONS:
Accessible Recruitment and Selection
Original Kids Theatre is committed to creating an inclusive, accessible recruitment and selection process. Please inform us, at the time of your application, of any requirement for accommodation in order for us to assess all candidates in a fair and equitable manner. If candidates require an accessible format, such as an oral interview rather than written answers, the Camp Director would be happy to arrange this with them. We do not want prospective candidates feeling anxious if their written abilities are not as strong as their peers.
