HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Spriet Family Theatre
Theatre

- End-on, black box space.
- 98 numbered seats plus 4 wheelchair locations typically stationed downstage right by the theatre entrance on the stage floor.
- Main audience entrance is downstage right of the stage and up the centre aisle stairs.
- Secondary entrance up staircase at rear of house.
- Tech booth is located at the rear on house right.
- There is a green room (20’ by 15’) with a washroom and small make-up room.
- The green room is equipped with an audio monitor feed from the stage and opens on to offstage upstage right.
- Limited storage is available in the green room at the discretion of the Production Manager & Technical Director.
- No effects with live flame or pyrotechnics are permitted in the theatre.
- Alcohol of any kind may not be consumed or be present on the theatre property.
Stage

- The stage is 25’ deep and 27’ wide
- Centre stage right
- Upstage right
- Upstage Centre
- Upstage Left (with a cross over from upstage right to upstage left)
- There are sightline issues with using the last 6’ of stage downstage especially when seated or on the floor
- There is a balcony structure 7’ from the stage floor at the rear of the stage
- The balcony is 22’ wide and 6’ deep
- via the staircases located at upstage right and upstage left onstage (both land at centre of the balcony)
- via ladders located offstage on stage left and stage right
- Be aware the balcony is creaky in spots
Offstage left of the balcony is also equipped with a shuttered window for appearances
Stage floor is made of Masonite/plywood and is slightly sprung
The walls of the stage are wooden with wooden studs on the stage
The balcony is constructed of plywood and wooden framing
The walls of the house auditorium are metal and glass on house right and drywall with metal studs on house left (so they cannot be screwed into)
Lighting

The basic house plot includes the following:
There is a followspot located at the rear of the house on the left side (this would require a separate operator supplied by the artist)
The booth is equipped with an ETC Nomad Lighting Control Console with programmable cue lists
- Warm front wash
- Cool front wash
- Open white top light
- LED muti-colour top light
- LED multi-colour front tips from both sides
- I-Cue moving light with iris
- LED bar lights on the rear wall lighting the portion above the balcony like a cyclorama

Sound

The house is equipped with 2 main speakers located mid stage 6 feet off the floor on either side of the stage
Be aware that microphone use downstage of the speaker line frequently results in feedback in our system

Rigging
The theatre is not equipped for any rigging effects.

- The balcony railing (10’ 6” above the stage floor)
- One of the lighting pipes which are located:
- 1 over the balcony (8’ above balcony floor)
- 1 over upstage (16’ above the stage floor)
- 1 over downstage (14’ above the stage floor)
- 2 over the house
- NOTE: If something is hung from a lighting pipe it must have a safe distance from the lighting instruments
